Introduction
FindxPro, a startup company, came up with the idea of a home-cooked food delivery app to help people in Bangalore. Since Bangalore is a busy city, many people struggle to find time to cook and maintain a healthy diet. FindxPro wanted to provide a solution by connecting customers with local cooks who make fresh, homemade meals. They approached me with their idea and asked me to design the app. My role was to create a user-friendly experience that made ordering home-cooked food easy and convenient. This case study explores my design process and how the app helps both customers and local chefs.
UX Designer I collaborated with the developers and Business Team.
In urban India, fast food and restaurant meals dominate delivery platforms, leaving a void for those who desire nutritious, comforting, home-cooked meals. Simultaneously, many skilled home chefs lacked a platform to showcase their talent and earn an income.
Home chefs have no digital storefront to reach potential customers
To create a platform that bridges the gap between people seeking nutritious, home-cooked meals and passionate home chefs.”
FindxPro envisions a community-powered food ecosystem that celebrates authenticity, wellness, and sustainability turning every kitchen into a potential business.
Surveys: 120+ responses from college students and working professionals in Bangalore
1:1 Interviews: 12 semi-structured interviews with users and home chefs
Competitor Analysis: Reviewed 2 similar platforms
As part of the initial research, I conducted surveys across different colleges and companies and also held one-on-one interviews to gain deeper insights into user needs and preferences. As a product designer, I carefully designed the surveys to target specific demographics and asked open-ended questions during the interviews to understand the challenges, habits and desires of potential users. The data collected was then analyzed to identify common patterns and pain points, which helped me create user personas that accurately represented the target audience and their needs for the home-cooked food delivery app.
Users want trustworthy, hygienic, and diverse home food options
Price sensitivity is high; affordability is crucial
Chefs are looking for visibility, scheduling flexibility, and income security
The site map was designed to illustrate the user journey for stakeholders, demonstrating how customers navigate the food delivery application. It outlines the process from browsing restaurants and selecting meals to placing orders and tracking deliveries. Users can seamlessly create accounts, save favorites, and make secure payments. The map also highlights interactions between customers, restaurants, and delivery partners, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience
“Designing with Users, Delivering with Purpose” – Owning the entire UX process was an incredible experience. Since this was my first freelance project, I truly enjoyed working with a small team. One of the highlights was directly engaging with end users understanding their real pain points and how our app could genuinely help them. Beyond just meeting user needs, I was also involved in the business side of things. Every step of the journey was a learning experience, shaping both my design approach and strategic thinking
